Sugar rush! Followed closely by a crash of epic proportions…
13 November, 2007Those of you in the know would definitely know that I had my Disney Movie Marathon Bithday Party this weekend. Complete with fort.
Liam came down for a visit carrying about a ton of crap food sent from my Mum. The fort went up at 4pm with help from Liam and Leslea. I moaned at Nick and Ben until they got up to help, and then banished them from the lounge because they were doing it all wrong. It’s my party and I’ll be a tyrant bitch if I want to be.
The fort ended up a little tent-like because I really wasn’t kidding about the size of my lounge. Its tiny.
We had a ton of sugar and salt. And we watched 3 of the 11 or so DVD’s I had stockpiled.
I hit a sugar low at midnight and fell asleep for a little bit through Aladdin. I denied it when asked though… “Shannon are you asleep?” *Snore* …”Huh? No?” As you can see I am an accomplished liar.
Leslea organised loot bags and pass the parcel, which was fun… Although I now know that Kevin dreams about Ben’s beard, which, in my opinion, is far more than I needed to know.
We had ice-cream sandwiches - BTW why does everyone seem to think it involves bread? An ice-cream sandwich is a slice of ice-cream wedged between two pink wafers. They are delicious, and do NOT involve bread. Just so it’s absolutely crystal clear - no bread.
And I made out like a bandit with TWO cakes. Kat brought a sponge cake with cream and jam (a breakfast cake, if you will), and Leslea got me to bake an Alison Holst Fudge Cake, which I put a few after dinner mints into (so more of a supper cake).
We didn’t eat either of these till the next day, and during that second day I ate possibly more sugar than I had during the party. Sugar withdrawals are not pretty.
This morning I took a look over my photo’s and they’re wobbly, and dark, and pleasantly fuzzy. I think it was the sugar… I’ll do my best to post a few when get a moment.

No way! Fairy bread looks awesome! I’ve never even heard of such a thing. Why don’t more of these trends cross the Atlantic? (or Pacific in your case) It’s like the other day I heard about spaghetti ice cream, with vanilla ice cream squeezed through a press for the spaghetti, red jam for the sauce, and grated white chocolate for the parmesan. Tasty! Also, in America ice cream sandwiches are common place, but we don’t use pink wafers. We have chocolate cookies on either side of vanilla. With a few exceptions.
Just wondering, did you happen to watch The Emperor’s New Groove? Cause that’s by far the best Disney movie ever. Seriously, ever!
OMG YUM I WANT A ICE CREAM SANDWHICH WITH COOKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol did u really fall asleep shan? ha funny.. i think we get like an intolarence to sugar as we get older coz if you hada done that wen you was younger you wulda been wide awake.
glad you had a gud time. cant wait 4 pics
That’s what I thought when I heard “ice cream sandwich” for the first time. But then I realised, after watching Lizzie Maguire (which I believe is Disney as well) that they it was ice-cream stuck in between cookies. Wow.
My favourite Disney movie is perhaps Tarzan.
OMG i just realised we didnt have fairy bread. How could we have overlooked this?
Lucky I took Ben and Nick away aye
PS the cake with after dinner mints was wicked
